This year has passed in a great blur. As I'm slapped with the realization that Christmas is a week away (and 2008 is around the corner), I consider how 2007 has been great to me. I'm deeply in love with my beautiful wife, God has provided for us everything we need (and more), I am building some excellent friendships, and I now have two sisters in my family (Amy and Steph). This year, I have also started a new job, made serious progress in grad-school, and through all of this, my strength and confidence in God's plans has increased.
As I consider the past 10 years, I can find one or two great lessons that I have learned each year. Over this last year I have recognized that life doesn't ever get easier, but rather, we get stronger. This has revolutionized my prayer life. For years, I have looked to the next phases in life; hoping, that the grass would be greener (simpler) on the other side. But that is not how life works. With more experience comes more wisdom; and with more wisdom, more responsiblity. And so now I pray, not that God would make things easier tomorrow, but that He would strengthen me for today.
The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. (Exodus 13:21)

Weekend w/ the Boyd's & Arboretum Shoot
The Boyd household had a pretty eventful weekend. We went to "Late Night with the Dallas Art Museum" on Friday (left the camera @ home - big mistake), had a picnic at the Arboretum Saturday (I finally got Lindsey to pose for some portraits), and celebrated Matt's bday over dinner Saturday night! I'll post a few of the arboretum pics HERE....stay tuned for more coming...

No Reason Needed...for an old photo

I was retouching some old photos when I came across this. This was my wedding day, July 12, 2003 (I do remember my anniversary!). Greg and Joy recently celebrated their 6th; Ben & Andrea, and Linds & I, our 4th; Chris and Katie, their 2nd, Russ was married almost a year ago; Ross, a couple of months ago; and Kyle gets hitched in December. I don't know why I'm posting this. I just felt like it.

Getaway: Austin
I spent most of yesterday afternoon walking and photographing downtown Austin. Lindsey and I had a little weekend-getaway, with fine dining, outlet shopping, more fine dining, and spa-treatments for linds & picture-hunting for me. It was a great time to catch up with each other and relax. I feel refreshed. Thanks M!
Some pics on flickr.
p.s. Cheers to Fado!

A Huntin' We Will Go
I went hunting with a couple of friends last night. Of course, my wife doesn't believe in guns...and I'm not much for sitting in a ditch and waiting for animals to show up; when I say "hunting", I am therefore refereing to "photo-hunting". Chris, Andrew, and I spent 4 hours moving through Deep Ellum (Dallas), capturing a bit of city life.
You can find the pics @ a secondary Carbonmade site that is found in my "Find Me Links"...or by clicking http://www.kevinaboyd.carbonmade.com/
