great blur

the road home: another monday, originally uploaded by kab_live.

This year has passed in a great blur. As I'm slapped with the realization that Christmas is a week away (and 2008 is around the corner), I consider how 2007 has been great to me. I'm deeply in love with my beautiful wife, God has provided for us everything we need (and more), I am building some excellent friendships, and I now have two sisters in my family (Amy and Steph). This year, I have also started a new job, made serious progress in grad-school, and through all of this, my strength and confidence in God's plans has increased.

As I consider the past 10 years, I can find one or two great lessons that I have learned each year. Over this last year I have recognized that life doesn't ever get easier, but rather, we get stronger. This has revolutionized my prayer life. For years, I have looked to the next phases in life; hoping, that the grass would be greener (simpler) on the other side. But that is not how life works. With more experience comes more wisdom; and with more wisdom, more responsiblity. And so now I pray, not that God would make things easier tomorrow, but that He would strengthen me for today.

Christmas coming

I thought this looked like it could be Mary praying...you know...Mary, mother of Jesus and all. Anyways, Christmas is coming.

Quad vintage, originally uploaded by kab_live.

Tonight, I have 6 photos that will be on display alongside some truly great artwork by local photographers at the Latino Culture Center in Dallas. The event is in appreciation of all of their volunteers and donors. The event is from 6-8p...if you are in Dtown and interested, come by tonight and join in the fun!
