Folk Theology & How to Fix It

Folk Theology is theology that has worked its way into church tradition but has no biblical basis.  These are things that many of us may have grown up hearing and taken for granted that it must be scripture…maybe just because it sounds like it.  Some of these things have even found their way into sermons and bible studies…many people have adopted folk theology without realizing they it wasn’t from God or about God.

We just completed a short – 4 week – series where we investigated 4 very practical examples of folk theology and tried to fix them with some biblical theology.  This was one of our church's favorite studies since I've been at Legacy.  I also had a blast and hope to come back to something like this and cover more in the future.
